“Col.Casey,one of my friends sent me this e-mail of his father who passed away.He was a Marine Tanker in the Battle of Okinawa and later in Korea and has some pictures of those days.Sgt Hazlett is in them with his Marine friends.If you could make these available to the USMC Tankers Association,i’m sure someone will recognize him or someone in the pictures.SEMPER FI.”

While in Pohang I got assigned as the loader on Y51, the Battalion Commander’s M26 tank. We got the word that we would be moving out and would have a full gear inspection. This meant that we had to take all of the tools, radios, machine guns, etc., and display them on a tarp in front of the tank. We had to stand at attention before the inspecting officer.
